We want every trip to go smoothly. Life doesn't always go to plan — here's exactly how we handle the unexpected, fairly and transparently.

What happens depends on how close your cancellation is to the start of your trip. The dividing line is 10 days before your scheduled trip start date.
More than 10 days before your trip
25% of quoted hire and selected extras, capped at $1,000 AUD
That is the cancellation charge. Anything you have already paid is applied toward it, and any amount paid above the charge is refunded to your original payment method.
Within 10 days of your trip
Non-refundable but you can ask to move your dates
Amounts paid toward the booking are not refundable this close to departure. Rather than losing the booking altogether, you may request to reschedule to a later date.
If you cancel within 10 days, tell us as soon as you can and we will do our best to move your booking rather than see it lost. A reschedule is a request, not an automatic right — we can only confirm it subject to:
Where the new dates fall in a higher-priced season, the difference is payable before the new booking is confirmed. If we can't accommodate a change, the original terms above continue to apply.
Returning early. If the van comes back before the agreed end date, unused hire days are not refundable — those dates were reserved exclusively for your booking and may have prevented others.
In the rare event that we have to cancel a confirmed booking — mechanical failure, an accident, the van becoming unavailable, or other unforeseen circumstances:
100% of all hire amounts paid to us for the affected booking is refunded to your original payment method, with no cancellation or administration fee.
We notify you as soon as reasonably possible, to minimise the disruption to your travel plans.
Where reasonably possible we will try to help you find another vehicle or solution. Unless expressly agreed otherwise, we can't guarantee the availability or cost of third-party alternatives.
Where extraordinary circumstances beyond either party's reasonable control materially affect a booking — natural disasters, government restrictions, road closures or similar force majeure events — we will work with you in good faith to find an appropriate resolution.
Depending on the circumstances that may mean a refund, a change of dates, or a credit toward a future booking. Each situation is assessed individually, subject to applicable Australian Consumer Law.
Bad weather. Ordinary adverse weather falls under the standard cancellation policy above. Where an extreme weather event, a declared natural disaster, an official road closure or similar makes the trip materially impossible or unsafe, contact us as soon as you can so we can assess the circumstances.
Bond amount
$1,000 AUD
Held in connection with the hire and subject to the final hire agreement.
When it's collected
4 weeks before your hire
Completed 28 days before pick-up, as set out in the final hire agreement.
When it's released
5 business days after return
Following vehicle return and inspection, subject to the hire agreement and any legitimate deductions.
What it covers
Damage, applicable excesses, additional charges and other amounts permitted under the signed hire agreement, beyond fair wear and tear where applicable — including the $200 exterior and $100 interior cleaning fees if additional cleaning is needed.
The security bond is separate from any cancellation charge. Its collection and release remain consistent with the final hire agreement and applicable law.
This cancellation policy relates to your Bondi Van Co hire. It does not necessarily cover other travel costs such as flights, accommodation, tours or personal belongings.

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which apply in addition to these terms.
